During my time at Leeson Solar Pty and Volt Australia Pty Ltd, I developed a range of full-featured applications in Salesforce using various technologies such as Lightning Web Components, Aura, Visualforce, APEX, JavaScript, HTML, REST API integrations, and more. Some projects were implemented in Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud/Community Cloud, while others were developed externally to Salesforce, such as in Webflow and Wix, but integrated with Salesforce using web services and APIs.

JOBFLOW System - Job Project Management

JOBFLOW is a dynamic, user-configurable project management system crafted to transform how solar installations and other projects are handled in Salesforce. This innovative system revolutionizes daily operations by automating approximately 95% of the typical solar install business processes. Key features include:
  • A sleek custom Lightning calendar for seamless scheduling of work and resources (installers), along with robust tracking of milestones, actions, and historical data.
  • Comprehensive tools for creating, managing, and visualizing purchase orders, invoices, and tailored reports with interactive charts.

To further enhance its capabilities, I developed an integrated custom stock management and inventory system. JOBFLOW also stands out with its extensive REST API integrations, seamlessly connecting with Xero, Twilio Voice, Twilio SMS, Twilio Flex, Mailchimp, Brevo, and OpenSolar.

This system not only streamlines operations but also integrates effortlessly with essential tools to provide a powerful, unified solution for managing solar projects.

Volt Connect Reseller Portal - Salesforce Experience Cloud

For Volt Australia, I designed and developed an engaging Salesforce Experience Cloud / Community Cloud-based Reseller Portal. This portal redefines the way our partners interact with the company by enabling them to:

  • Seamlessly Register for Training: Partners can effortlessly sign up for a variety of training sessions suited to their interests and needs.
  • Effortlessly Request and Manage Quotes: The portal allows for straightforward quote requests and management, streamlining the process between various stakeholders.
  • Track and Manage Jobs: Partners have the capability to oversee closed-won jobs and access job information through a streamlined, restricted view of our JobFlow system.

This portal enhances partner engagement and simplifies project management, driving efficiency and collaboration.

Voice over IP (VoIP) SIP Phone, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System, and SMS Interface Integration

For Volt Australia, I designed and developed an engaging Salesforce Experience Cloud / Community Cloud-based Reseller Portal. This portal redefines the way our partners interact with the company by enabling them to:

Developed a Twilio REST API integration that automatically logs calls and voicemails, as well as sends, receives, and logs SMS messages. The system is implemented using REST APIs and Webhooks with Twilio Voice, Twilio SMS, and Twilio Flex APIs. It includes the following features:

  • Full IVR (Interactive Voice Response) management in Salesforce – Allows setup of voice menus, voicemail, call forwarding, and more.
  • Complete integration using Twilio REST API and Webhooks for VoIP with Bria mobile VoIP softphone. Configuration of SIP phone users and default settings. Each appropriate staff member has a dedicated business Twilio VoIP mobile number. Supports incoming and outgoing calls, voicemail, and call forwarding.
  • Twilio Flex Phone Dialer – Enables direct calling from Salesforce Job, Opportunity, or Lead records, with automatic logging of calls against those records.
  • Integration of incoming and outgoing calls, SMS, and voicemail with the JOBFLOW system. Automatically detects the user and links to associated job projects.

TypeForm Integration API, Webhooks and Management Component

Implemented TypeForm using REST API integration and Webhooks. The native TypeForm Salesforce connector was inadequate and highly limited, as it required a separate Salesforce field for each TypeForm question, even when many answers needed to be mapped to just a few fields.

Developed a robust Salesforce TypeForm Administration component to manage settings for TypeForm forms. Leads were created based on webhook responses, which dynamically referenced configuration documents to properly map fields and picklists..

Brevo Rest API Integration and Management Interface with Syncing

Brevo is a digital marketing platform designed for email marketing, SMS campaigns, and marketing automation, helping businesses engage with their audience.

Using REST API integration, I developed an Administration Lightning Web Component and APEX backend code to run one-off synchronization or schedule synchronization via a scheduled job. To enable the marketing department to manage email templates in Brevo, I also developed Salesforce APIs, allowing us to send emails from Brevo using Brevo email templates directly from Salesforce, our Webflow website, or Google Script. This dramatically reduced the occurrence of our emails being caught by spam filters.

Mailchimp Rest API Integration

Before Brevo, we used Mailchimp. I developed Salesforce APIs to allow the marketing department to manage email templates in Mailchimp and utilize them directly from Salesforce.

Solar Calculator

Redeveloped an online Solar Calculator, a tool for specifying and drawing solar panels on domestic roofs. It utilizes Google Maps to display satellite images and features an interface that guides users in overlaying panels on the roof.

The tool calculates the number of panels required and generates a solar system quote. The quote is created as a PDF in Google Slides using Google Script. The PDF quote is then emailed to the user using Brevo API and a Brevo template managed by the marketing department.

Webflow Forms To Salesforce Lead, Opportunity, Case And Job

Created various RESTful web services using Apex classes to accept Website form data. Developed JavaScript libraries for the front end to handle calling API and the creation of Salesforce records.

Lead And Campaign Tracking Website Visitors With Salesforce Integration

Dramatically improved our understanding of leads by capturing their sources and timestamps. This enhancement allowed us to identify whether leads came from our website, external websites, social media posts, or paid advertising via Google Ads or Meta (Facebook/Instagram).

Using RESTful web services for creating Salesforce leads, I added additional lead fields to store tracking information such as the referring URL, original web entry page and time, and various campaign UTM parameters. I then developed a set of JavaScript libraries to capture this information on our website and attach it globally to each page.

Job Opportunity Reporting

Specialized, fully user-definable reporting that works across multiple objects. Users can save multiple reports with varied criteria and filters, specifically designed to combine related data from various sources into a single report. This feature was essential for addressing reporting needs that exceeded the limitations of standard Salesforce reports.

Kim was excellent both from a technical perspective in all aspects of development, administration and integration of features with Salesforce, but he also made the process simple and engaging from a client side (for me), translating my requirements to deliver the required outcomes.

Standout achievements for me were the integration of the web-based Thinkific learning platform via a Bi-directional API to automate user administration and course training records and the development of a Salesforce Community workflow management tool to be used by our external installation partners for assigned jobs, ordering of product, invoicing and delivery tracking.
